After reading this article, I found out that the first flight from ocean to ocean, and the first flight to the moon was 40 years a part. This speaks wonders to what the human race is capable of. This was a huge advancement, not only for its time, but the rest of human history. Our race discovered and used technology, for the betterment of society. We some how not only learned to fly but once we did, it only took 40 years to then travel to Outer space. Saying it’s an amazing accomplishment wouldn’t give it enough justice!
In today’s day and age we are vain. We always have been as a species, but with the rise of social media and things going viral and everyone’s statuses being updated live… we have, in a sense diminished our worth as a society and as human beings. The way we glorify icons, celebrities and coveted lifestyles is embarrassing for only having an iPhone to show for ourselves and for our times. Although iPhone’s have in fact changed our society, I’m not sure, if it was for the better. Sometimes, I’m entertained, but you can only go to see the circus, maybe once a year.
This idea of ‘idol’ and celebrity is holding our race back. The idea of witnessing the “reality” of someone else, through social media is something that even the Internet couldn’t predict!
Although I am no Scientist, Engineer, Developer, Programmer, or any other “nerd” occupation. My world views are what those nerds are advocating for and that is change.
I find that most people that I’ve met, 9 times out of 10 are good. Even that 1 person you meet that sometimes isn’t, still shows signs of hope and a desire to be loved and to love. This is what I think makes us all spirit human.
